Say cheers to beer!

No sooner have we put the top back on the bottle of our favourite tipple for World Gin Day, we find ourselves rolling out the barrel – or more likely a keg – for a whole day celebrating beer.

Beer Britain Day, which takes place annually on June 15, will see people up and down the land raise a pint glass to say cheers to beer.

As you know, we do enjoy any opportunity to have a party, so we’re joining in the national knees up by sharing some of our favourite local haunts to kick back, relax and enjoy a thirst-quenching pint of the good stuff.

Those friendly folks at Red Squirrel have taken the guess work out of finding a pint that best suits your tastebuds. The bar, located on Lothian Road, has house taps showcasing session lager, blonde ale, extra pale ale and stout – along with a great selection of other beers from Edinburgh, across Scotland and indeed the world.

Love craft beer? Then you’d better make like a bat out of hell… towards The Hanging Bat. Not only will you find a selection from fantastic breweries at home and abroad, this beer café on Lothian Road prides itself on a collection combing the classics to the weird – and everything in between. It also has regular events, including opportunities to meet the brewer, and most importantly, you can also visit the in-house brewery,

The Dockside Tap in Leith is Stewart Brewing’s first tap room outside the main brewery. Along with the taproom where you will find no less than 10 taps of rotating beer, there’s a very well-stocked bottle shop packed full of bottles, cans, gifts and merchandise, and a growler refilling station. A glass bottle for refilling, growlers allow you to enjoy a refreshing beverage while saving the planet at the same time.

However, if once you’ve checked into your apartment here at The Chester Residence you find that you just can’t tear yourself away from your luxurious cocoon to go beer hunting, we’ve got you covered.

We offer a number of fantastic packages that you can add on to your stay – one of which just happens to be a beer bundle! It includes 2 bottles of Stewart’s lager, 2 bottles of Hollyrood Pale Ale, 2 bottles of Stewart’s Session IPA and some tasty Mackies crisps.
