Here we’ve picked out some of our favourite gin distilleries for a fantastic day out:

 Edinburgh Gin

Often ranked as one of the top 20 Edinburgh visitor attractions on TripAdvisor, the Edinburgh Gin Distillery is located in the city’s West End on Rutland Place – just a short walk from The Chester Residence! A number of tours are available including the Gin Discovery Tour where you can learn about the history of the drink, how it’s made and discover the different types of botanicals used. You can even create your own gin with their Gin Making Tour – the ultimate experience for any gin fan!

The Gin Discovery Tour costs £10, the Gin Connoisseur Tour costs £25 and the Gin Making Tour costs £75. For further information visit:

Pickering’s Gin

Pickering’s Gin is made at Summerhall Distillery, Edinburgh’s first exclusive gin distillery in over 150 years! Located in Edinburgh’s southside, Summerhall is an old animal hospital turned arts venue. Guided tours and tastings are available Mondays and Wednesdays to Saturdays. For something a bit different, why not play their ‘Locked in the Distillery’ escape game?

Distillery tours cost £10. For further information visit:

Eden Mill

Fancy getting out of the city? Take a day trip to the seaside town of St Andrew’s where you’ll find the Eden Mill distillery. Begin their Gin Tour with a refreshing Gin and Tonic and learn about the history of the distillery and their locally grown botanicals including Fife's seabuckthorn berries. The tour will then finish with a gin tasting session. St Andrew’s is roughly 1 hour 20 mins by car or 1 hour 30 mins by train. We can also organise a chauffeur drive for guests.

Available seven days a week, their Gin Tour costs £10. For further information visit:

North Berwick Gin

Did you know North Berwick Gin was voted the ‘World’s Best London Dry Gin’? Only 30 minutes on the train from Waverley train station, North Berwick is located along the scenic east-coast and is the perfect place to visit for those looking to get out of the city but not travel too far.
